Local children get creative to mark VE Day

Youngsters across Halesowen & Rowley Regis were busy last week drawing, colouring, gluing and sticking as they answered James’s call to mark the 75th Anniversary of VE Day by creating a picture.

James met with young people and mental health experts from Action for Children recently, as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. Children of all ages can be affected by mental health, and the latest NHS figures show that one in eight 5-19 year olds in England have at least one disorder.

James is supporting a petition from Halesowen North Councillor Joe Roberts for more parking at Shell Corner, to boost local business and make the roads safer for pedestrians.

James honours Holocaust victims on 75th Anniversary

James signed the Holocaust Education Trusts’ Book of Commitment this week to remember those killed in the Holocaust and support the Trust’s ongoing work to educate young people on what happened.

Green fingered locals recognised

Rowley Regis MP James Morris joined green fingered locals for the annual Rowley Regis Horticultural Society Show which saw prizes handed out for the best in show, flower arranging and the inaugural James Morris Cup for cakes.

 

Ameena win Tiffin Cup prize
